WP Ajax Edit Comments 1.106 Released

This is a small release for Ajax Edit Comments, but includes several features that may be worth upgrading for.

  • A language pack is included for easier translation. Hopefully a German and French version will be released soon.
  • Security keys can now be deleted. You can find the option in the admin panel options for this plugin. Unfortunately ones added before this version must be deleted manually.
  • Plugin is compatible with a spin-off version of jQuery. Please visit this jQuery Ajax Comments site for more details.

Unfortunately I still haven’t figured out the bug that occurs with some themes. Hopefully the next release will have a fix.

For those wishing to delete the security keys manually, you will have to log into phpMyAdmin and run this query (after backing up your database):

delete from wp_postmeta where length(meta_value) = 96

There is a chance that other things might be deleted, so be sure to backup your database.

You probably already knew this but I thought I’d mention that the problem I’m having with your plugin not working with my current theme is only a problem when I use Firefox. Your plugin works perfectly in IE. (I’ve disabled your plugin until the fix is in place since most of my visitors use FF.)

I use your plugin at my other blog and it works fine in all browsers from what I can tell so far.

I do love it and look forward to the fix so I can use it. :)

    Anna,

Could you please let me know which theme you’re using and what the issue is please?

I am using “News Blue” by Bob… I changed some of the colors/graphics in the stylesheet…

The problem is that the words show up but nothing can be clicked. I made a few screen shots to show you what I mean.

For example when logged in as admin, the words “edit delete spam” show as links but they are not clickable.

When a unlogged visitor comments the words come up the it is not possible to click to edit.

I don’t have many visitors so I went ahead and enabled the plugin and will leave it that way for a day or two.

Thanks for taking a look at it… :)

    Hi Anna,

Looks like you’re using threaded comments. I’ve had several people say this plugin isn’t compatible, so it might not be your theme. I have other things going on right now, but I will add this issue to my follow-up queue when I release a new version.

Thanks for taking a look at it… I use your plugin with the identical comments.php at heckofit.net and it works perfectly…

I conducted one more test at netjourney.us.

I changed to the Chameleon theme.

Then I downloaded threaded comments.php from the News Blue theme and uploaded it to Chameleon and it worked fine with Chameleon (and threaded comments). That gave me the conclusion that the problem is in the News Blue theme somewhere.

Thanks again for the wonderful plugin. I really like it. :)
