If you decide to participate in Reader Appreciation Week(RAW) 2007, you might be struggling to come up with ideas for stuff to give away. Below is a list of prizes the RAW team brainstormed. The prizes are split up into three categories: tech, non-tech, and non-monetary.

Non-Monetary Prize Ideas

• Free hosting
• E-book Downloads
• Website design
• Theme Design
• Logo Design
• Free advertising space
• Free consulting (blog, design, etc…)
• Reader Spotlight – Write a post about a particular reader
• Create a Readers’ Hall of Fame
• Special invites to non-public betas
• Custom Titles and/or Avatars (for forum leaders)

Non-Technical Prizes

The following prizes are ideal for readers that aren’t highly technical.

• Merchandise (T-Shirts, Mugs, Mouse Pads)
• Retail store gift cards
• Money Orders
• Candles from Little-Light.net
• Transportation tickets, like BART and other tickets (as explained in the comment below)

Technical Prizes

The following prize ideas are ideal for readers comfortable with the online world and online shopping.

• iTunes gift certificate

• Mint Stats Package (for website owners). Update: Shaun Inman said that although it is possible to forward a license to another account, he doesn’t recommend giving the package away.

Reader Appreciation Week (RAW) is a week where blog authors show reader appreciation. Blog authors are free to show appreciation to the readers in many unique ways. RAW will be for five days from April 9th through the 13th.

What is the Purpose of RAW?

• To show appreciation to your existing readers.
• To show readers that they matter.
• To reward those most loyal to your site.

How to Participate

There are many ways bloggers can participate, and a lot of the ways require no money. You can check out the RAW 2007 Prize Ideas for more details. Listed below are are some quick examples of how to show reader appreciation.

• Give stuff away.
• Write thank-you posts to individual readers.
• Profile random readers (with their permission of course).

RAW 2007 will be from April 9th through the 13th. You can help spread the word by participating in RAW 2007 and getting other bloggers involved. You are welcome to use the RAW 2007 image (top of this post) if you do decide to participate.

RAW 2007 will be a success if even one blog participates, but the overall goal of the week is to have a concentrated effort by bloggers to show reader appreciation.
