Poll: RA Project and Monetization
There are obviously some changes coming to RA Project (which I will get into in a future post).
One of the first things is a new design. Simonne and I have agreed that we will likely transition to the Mimbo Pro theme when it is released.
If you look at the pre-liminary sketch, there are a few slots for adverts. Part of my reasoning for the potential monetization of this site is to compensate past and future contributors (as well as RA Project overhead).
This begs the question: what do the RA Project readers think about the monetization of this site?
If you have a moment, please participate in the poll below. You are also welcome to express your opinion in the comments section. If you are against monetization, I’d also be interested in hearing your viewpoint.
The poll will be live until 02/17/2008.
If you don’t see the poll, please visit this link to cast your vote.

I think the idea of monetization is just fine by me. If it will help to continue the goal of discussing all aspects of reader appreciation, I don’t see anything wrong. Man, mimbo pro looks like a sweet looking design.

@Jeff,
Thanks for weighing in man. The Mimbo Pro theme does look sweet and I’m really looking forward to the official release. The theme will help in the direction of RA Project.

I’m all in favour of your monetisation. Anyone who blogs, or knows a blogger, knowss how much time and energy is involved and that there are expenses to be paid. For me, as one of your readers, it is a question of trust. Do I trust that you will make sure the monetisation doesn’t reduce the accessibility and quality of your content? Yes, I do.
It’s as simple as that.
And I hope that it will reward you all for your work in a way that I, as a reader, cannot.

@Lani,
Your kind words are a reward in itself. Thank you for having confidence in us.

I’m definitely not against this blog’s monetization, and I too trust your judgement with the ad placement.
Mimbo theme sure looks nice. All the best!

@Vivien,
I’m really looking forward to Mimbo
