Peeve Week 3 Update

peeve_week_3_web.jpg

Peeve Week 3 is off to a good start. Ten slots have already been filled, and one day has already been sponsored.

Several readers have sent in questions and I’d like to address a few of those in this post.

What happens when I sign up for a slot?

Not a whole lot. I’ll put your name next to a slot and send you an e-mail for confirmation.

Signing up for a slot is just a pledge that you will get me your contribution by April 4th and is a way of organizing all of the contributors.

One thing to note here is you don’t have to have a post ready before signing up for a slot.

How do I get you your post after signing up for a slot?

You can write a post on your own blog about your peeve topic without mentioning Peeve Week. Once you’ve published the post, please let me know about it by sending me an e-mail.

If you don’t have a blog or if you’d like to contribute exclusively for RA Project, you can e-mail me your post (I’ll post it for you) or you can apply to be a guest contributor and write and publish the post yourself.

I do ask that the posts are at least 350 words and that the authors release under Creative Commons so that an e-book can be published at the end of Peeve Week.

What happens if others write about the same thing?

There are five themes, which are WordPress, SEO/Make Money Online,Web Design/Development,Social Networking, and Blogging.

If an author happens to post under the theme with the same topic you happen to be writing for, it should be fine. Chances are you will have a different view point on the same topic.

What’s the difference between a contributor and a sponsor?

A contributor has claimed a writing spot and will be contributing a post for Peeve Week.

A sponsor has contributed a prize (worth at least $10, or $50 for a full day) that will sponsor the contributed posts.

At the end of Peeve Week, a reader poll will decide which contributor for each day wins the sponsored prize.

Why should one sponsor a contribution?

Sponsors are an incentive for the contributors of Peeve Week. We do ask that the prize be worth at least $10, or $50 for a full day. The prize can be tangible (product or monetary based) or intangible (service based).

Sponsors will receive a “sponsored by…” at the top of the sponsored contribution and be featured in a sponsors page in the e-book distributed at the end of Peeve Week.

A post will also be written before Peeve Week which will be an informational post for readers as to what prizes are available.

There are potential long-term benefits of sponsoring Peeve Week posts since many are heavily viewed in the long run through search engine traffic.

Any other questions?

If you have your own questions, please feel free to ask in the comments or send me an e-mail.

Also, feel free to claim a slot or contact me regarding a sponsorship. There are fifteen contributor slots left and twenty sponsor slots left.
