Placing Readers First - David Airey

david_airey.jpg

When the Readers First award began, the goal was to award about six blogs a month. The difficult part was how to choose the winners, and stumbling upon new blogs.

It is my goal to bring this award back and have it completely reader driven. There is a new Readers First nomination form where readers such as yourself can nominate any blog you feel does an excellent job at placing readers first.

To get the ball rolling, I will personally nominate and award the Readers First award to David Airey and all of his associated blogs.

David is a perfect example of a high-profile blogger and designer who goes above and beyond in the concept of reader appreciation. He responds to almost every comment, and loves the concept of reader feedback.

David is an example of ultimate blogger transparency and is highly approachable. And on top of it all, David is not in the least bit shy to show some love to his readers:

It’s no secret that you, the people who read my blog, are full of excellent ideas. The comments you leave add great value to my articles, and I’ve been told so on many occasions.

In the above quote, David has begun what he describes as showing some focus on reader comments.

Focusing on the reader comments in a separate post is an excellent form of reader appreciation. Readers do their best to get noticed in the comment section, but their comment is often lost in a feed aggregator. By providing some focus on reader comments in a post, all David’s subscribers now have access to a reader’s input.

David, thank you for being such an outstanding example of reader appreciation.

It’s Your Turn

If you visit a blog (or have one) that you feel places readers first, please nominate the blog.

You will have your choice to remain anonymous if you are not comfortable being mentioned.

Also, Readers First awardees will be featured in the footer on our main page.

I appreciate any assistance in helping to continue this award.

Glad you like the avatar. It’s amazing what you can do with a cheap webcam.

Off-topic, nice choice running the Mimbo Pro theme. I found it recently and have been very tempted to give it a shot for my portfolio site.

Thanks David. I really do like this theme and I’m glad you like the implementation. The image resizer that’s built in is nifty too.
